The kids came home yesterday. First was T, I asked him about several activities that I knew would be staples in the Kindergarten classroom. He proceeded to tell me that his recess was short and they only read one story. He was excited about snack in which he had chocolate milk and some cookies. - With his mixed reaction, I wasn't sure how today would go... but when I got home from work this morning he was up, dressed, and wearing his kindergarten name tag.
Yep, he's still excited.
Then came M, It being her first day of middle school, I asked if she liked all her teachers. She told me that all but one was fine. It was the science teacher, and in her words, "he's strict." She brought me home a lot of expectation letters from her classes and I quickly began filling my calendar with important dates. "AIDS parent preview" "Curriculum night" and so on. There went my quiet September. LOL
W, gave me a packet and told me she didn't have any homework this week, but that it was my homework. Indeed, there was a parent questionaire and her expectations letter I had to sign and send back.
A, didn't say much until dinner when she was then all about telling us about the day. She has a new teacher this year. (I mean he's not in the sub-pool any more.) She got on the bus this morning and with a great big smile she said. "Mr. Dunbrasky loves smiles." Yep, I think she likes her class too.
