Roars and Dives

I needed a panoramic camera to capture the dinosaur sculpture behind the kids. It gives a good size comparison.

After begging and bribing the kids to get the house into shape, that and knowing our OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) membership was about to expire, we decided to take the kids for a day of fun and exploration.

We started our day taking a tour of the USS Blueback a retired submarine permanently parked next to OMSI.

An almost excited crew in front of the USS Blueback.

I know I learned an awful lot about it and couldn't believe the crowded lifestyle it offered. While it was an interesting 40 minutes. My mind ran rampant on how I would react in such a situation.

A little more enthusiasm in front of the propeller of the Blueback. It was removed to be this display. It weighs three tons!

Their most recent exhibit was the dinosaur's of China. There were real fossil's and then models and animitronics. All fun and interesting. We also viewed a more regular exhibit on hearing and the life science room where we looked at spider's, rats, gecko's walking sticks, bull frogs, snakes, and more.

Here's a short video of one of the animitronics. Roadrunner wouldn't go near it.

Roooaaarrrr!
