And While I'm on the Subject, Ramblings and Thoughts on Twilight and Stephenie Meyer

Confession:
Okay, so now I am going to sound crazy in this post, but I must confess I have read all four Twilight books in less than two weeks. Don't ask me about the laundry, dishes, and what the pantry look like.

WARNING: Potential Spoiler ahead.

I must really thank my patient husband who allowed me to be distracted. It soon came about that if I sat down with one of the books in my hand I was a few hours North, in Forks.
Hubby: "Are you going back to Forks Hun?"
Me: "Yep, see you at supper."
Or worse...
Hubby: "So tell me what's happening now?"
Me: "Well, Bella just put up a shield around us." Whoops, did I just say us? LOL ROTF, Gosh I guess I really was there too.

Too Analytical and a little bit of crazed fan:
So anybody who knows me, knows I am super thorough in thought and logic and reason. When something is planted in my head I research it to death until I'm satisfied. Knowledge is my "thirst". So in my thorough ways I sought out the Twilight website and got way more than I bargained on. I love the playlists and look forward to Edward's perspective. (Midnight Sun)
I find myself being hyper-critical of facial expressions, voice inflections, and seeking out my own playlist for how I think it should be played out. All a product from allowing myself into this strange triangle.
I watched movie previews and immediately disagreed on the choice of actors for James. But then I rethought it and decided that he shouldn't look scary if vampires are naturally attractive to thier human prey. I will watch the movie, but I doubt I will appreciate it the same as I do the book. There is too much inner-emotion and termoil that will be too hard to convey on the screen. The action will be fun though, and I'm not usually a big action girl.
Update on Daughter:
Oh, and my daughter (the one I went to bribe) still hasn't finished cleaning her room. At least I have co-workers to discuss the books with.
Getting Smarter and Opinions:

I must admit however that I have formed very strong opinions about the different books, at times I wonder how stressed or depressed Stephenie was when she wrote some of the very dark parts of these books. I think that outside of the main charachters I would have liked to have gotten to know Emmett more. What a ham! (See third and fourth books). I also flexed my dictionary a little by looking up words I obviously don't hear or use in regular conversation or intervals. I did however offer to help my daughter gain a perspective or a better understanding of the vocabulary words if she so wished. I know this was published as a young adult novel series but quite frankly I don't think that you could really see a twelve year-old's vocabulary including words like masochistic and expletive.

On being related:
Before I had read the books, I knew that I had one of those weird distant cousin relationships to a suddenly famous person. (Stephenie Meyer) But rather than being the wild eyed gold digger oddly related third cousin twice removed by marriage or something like that. I found it satisfying enough to just be acquainted with her real first cousin and know that humanity exists on every plane - besides its a lot easier to explain and most people really don't care anyway. :0) Even I get that! You know its a stretched relationship when you have to Google the person to find out anything about them!

Thanks for listening to my rave for my brief craze... And Stephenie, my oddly distant relative, You have a talent and gift for writing and I'm so happy that you have found a well of success in your tinkering hobby, may you and your family be abundantly blessed.

I don't know about you - but that was a very well written and read blog. I however did not know that there was a third cousin twice removed relativety for you though - interesting. Now although I do not have the time to get into the series of books at this time in my life, I however will be interested in the movie. Thanks for sharing.
