So Busy I Can Barely Keep Up

The girls in Ballet

So in the last month, since I'm terrible at blogging more than that, has held a lot of creative scheduling. Our tax return helped us get our car tuned up and new tires as well as allowed us to pay off some bills. Now its back to the grindstone to live within our means. With a renewed ferver, we are carefully keeping track of all of our expenditures and attempting to budget regularly. We thank You Need A Budget.com in our quest to live closer to the principles that we know will bless us.

We have also had the girls doing ballet. This was first an Noodle request but she takes it the least seriously. It's Bookworm who carries the grace and poise while doing the exercises and routines. We have made it through semester 1 and are in semester 2. Now if I could see the same effort into Bookworm's homework, we'd see a well rounded girl.
Pixie finally got her ears pierced (a delayed birthday gift) she is very careful to take care of them as instructed. I don't even have to remind her, I wish I could say the same for her medicine. She is doing better academically but still has to work very hard to stay at her level.
Roadrunner, is just a sweet, growing boy who brings delight to all those he spends time with. He is an eager learner and loves school.
Noodle's teacher called for the only parent/teacher conference this round and I thought we were going to hear how she was falling behind, not being honest about homework or other issues. Instead it was a pleasant report of her great strides. The only downside was that her desk was an absolute mess and very disorganized. This did not surprise me at all! Have you seen her bedroom? Nevermind, I don't want to show it to you.
Bicycle man has been riding his bicycle to work in this fickle weather. We had to replace his wheels because his other ones had nearly 2000 miles on them and were requiring daily mainetenance.

At the end of our tax return we took the opportunity to take a quick trip to Disneyland. The kids have never really been and its been 12 years since David and I last went. Thanks to great tips from several of my co-workers, we had a great time. The only hitch came after we took off from the airport. We were in the air for about 35 minutes when the captain informed us we would be returning to Portland because of an engine light and an air quality light and they were unable to resolve it in the air. Luckily they had a plane waiting for our transfer and we were on our way.

Enjoy the pictures...
Waiting at the airport at 6am.
So anxious to play in the warm California sun, they broke out thier swimsuits right when we got to the hotel.
